Hanover Warriors Spring Youth Football and Cheerleading 2021
The Hanover Warriors invite you to join us for our 2021 spring football and cheerleading season! We encourage you to register early -either online or at one of our various in-person signups listed on the Welcome page. This will help us in planning for the upcoming season. At our first few in-person signups, we will not be trying on uniforms like we traditionally have- just filling out the registration paperwork. Due to COVID we will have individually assigned times for uniform try-ons closer to the start of the season.
Whether you were going to play rec ball, middle school or if you are playing JV HS football let the Warriors give you a spring season! If you are an 8th grader or age eligible 9th grader playing JV, your season will be over before our 2ND game and if there is a delay you could possibly be done before we have any games -so signup! Regardless of how the situation is now, we continue to plan - and if we can safely play - we will be ready!
At this time, we do not know if we will have a spring season due to COVID 19 and for that reason we are asking that no payments be made until we can verify a spring season. Register now so we can plan for coaches, fields, and equipment ahead of time. Flexibility is key as circumstances are beyond our control. For example; right now we do not know all of the cutoff age dates (older experienced teams in E2E will be 4/1/2021), which of the 4 interested spring leagues will have spring football and when the season will start.
Hanover Warriors predict we probably will have a spring season that will be slightly delayed. We are currently scheduled to start practices the beginning of March and have our first game the last Saturday of March; however, the season schedule could change. If the season is delayed by a few weeks we would not need to use the Elementary fields at all since the Hanover County Parks open on March 15th. In addition, JV and Varsity High School Football would be done before our first game. This would allow the 8th graders playing JV and age eligible 9th graders to play without missing a game!
COVID 19
Our football and cheerleading season and getting life back to normal depends on how we fight the COVID 19 pandemic. We will follow VHSL guidelines
for COVID 19. After January 2021 the CDC shows improvements in COVID rates.
We have the ability to stop these deaths, getting vaccines out, keeping masks on, social distancing. We just have to get everyone to hang in there a few more weeks." -CNN article 12/23/2020
